CARNIVORES
A carnivore is an animal that gets food from killing and eating other animals. Since carnivores have to hunt down and kill other animals they require a large amount of calories. This means that they have to eat many other animals over the course of the year. The bigger the carnivore, the more it has to eat.

Our Solar System
The Sun and the nine planets are part of the Solar System. The nine planets are Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. The Sun is in the centre of the Solar System. all the nine planets move around the Sun in a large oval path. The planets also spin by itself.
Do you know? Planet Pluto moves around the Sun on a different plane. Its path is different from other planets.

A Complete Change
Many young animals do not look like their parents. They undergo changes before they look like their parents. Can you name the animals?
Stages in the life cycle of a butterfly
A caterpillar hatches from an egg.
eggs -- caterpillar -- pupa -- butterfly
Stages in the life cycle of a frog
eggs -- tadpoles -- they grow bigger become frog
Animals have different life cycles. Some young animals look like their parents. For example, hamters and chick.
egg -- chick -- hen
Do you know? Sometimes other insects lay eggs on a caterpillar's body. When the eggs hatch, the young insects will eat the caterpillar until they turn into adults.
